The Louisiana Purchase Chapter, NSDAR, sponsors the annual DAR Good Citizens Awards and Scholarship Contest for area high school seniors. Those who write an essay on the topic assigned are judged by non-DAR members and the top essay is awarded a chapter scholarship. We host a DAR Good Citizens Awards and Scholarship Tea for the awardees and announce the essay scholarship winner.
